Editorial Policy

Sources

Guides are researched from primary and professional sources, such as federal agencies and recognized industry standards bodies, and every guide lists its sources with the date they were checked. We summarize sources in our own words and link to them.

Review before publication

Nothing is published automatically. Each guide is written, checked against its sources by an editor, and reviewed by a licensed commercial real estate professional (and an attorney where lease or legal terms are explained) before publication. The reviewer's name and the review date appear on the page. Drafts with unresolved verification notes cannot be approved.

What we do not publish

We do not publish legal, tax or investment advice, valuations, return or yield projections, market rent claims for a particular property, or statements that a use is permitted at a location. Where numbers matter, we explain how they are calculated and point to the documents that decide them.

Listing information is not editorial

Listing descriptions, photos and figures come from listing brokerages through MyStateMLS and are shown as reported. Our conversions (for example a rate per square foot per year) are labeled, and we never fill in a missing figure.

Updates and corrections

Guides are re-checked on a schedule, outbound links are checked automatically, and pages show when they were last checked. To report an error, contact us.
